So there’s this new trend going around that everyone is trying – Brow Lamination. I’m going to apologize in advance because I didn’t take a before picture. I was so excited that I literally forgot which isn’t like me because I’m normally taking pictures of everything. Anywho, I jumped on the band wagon and decided to try the service for myself.
Shout out to Jackie Aina. It wasn’t until I came across her post that I learned about brow lamination. From there, I started to see it pop up all over social media. See the exact post here. Social media has really been influencing the folks out here. I’ve fell victim time and time again but I’m so glad I did this. Keep reading for everything you need to know about this service and my experience.
What is Brow Lamination?
Brow lamination in short are permed eyebrows. During this process, a chemical solution is applied to assist with the unruly or thinning brow hairs. This allow the hairs to be smoothed out while lifting them in a more vertical direction which in turns result in fuller looking brows and more flexibility to brush them in your desired shape.
Why brow lamination?
Thanks to my dad, love you dad! I have very thick, curly brows that grow impeccably fast. I seem to find myself getting them done almost every week or so unless I decide to wolf it. No matter how hard I try to manipulate them to make them lay down, they would still find a way to curl up like they’re ready for a good nights rest. Don’t get me wrong, I love my brows, however, I wanted them to be more manageable. After doing my research on brow lamination, I felt it was the best option, so I decided to give it a try.

Brow Lamination aftercare and maintenance
For the first 24 hours after my services, I was instructed by Jocelyn to avoid wetting my brows. I was also provided with a spoolie and oil to keep the area moisturized. The brushed up effect of brow lamination can last about 4 to 6 weeks, but it does require a little bit of work. Every morning, you should brush or comb your eyebrows in the desired direction.
How often should you perform brow lamination and what is the price?
The thing about brow lamination is that it is not permanent. After servicing, once your begin to grow back, they will grow back as normal. If you would like to maintain the laminated look, it is recommended to get this service every 3 to 6 weeks. It can possibly be sooner depending on how fast your brows grow. Performing the service too often or too soon can lead to damaging your brows as well as the skin around the eyebrows. The average price for brow lamination services can range from $60-$80.
Can this service be done at home?
I personally haven’t done this at home but It can be done. Below is a detailed video of Jackie Aina doing her monthly maintenance at home. In the video she share detail instructions of here laminating her brows and the products she used.
Overall, I would rate this experience 10/10. I am very satisfied with my results.
