I’ve always been someone who likes to stick to what I know when it comes to fashion. I have my go-to outfits and styles that I feel comfortable in, and I rarely venture outside of that comfort zone.
But recently, my friend challenged me to try something new. I informed her that I was cleaning out my closet and had some recent packages come in from Shein and Fashion Nova. IYKYK! She suggested that I let her choose two outfits for me to purchase from Fashion Nova, a popular online clothing retailer. I was hesitant at first, but I decided to take the plunge and see what she would come up with. She has swag and a good taste so I knew it whatever it was, would be nice.
To my surprise, I loved both of the outfits she chose for me. The first was a floral print corset top with a hook and eye front and adjustable lace up back. She paired that with a pair of high rise olive cargos. Something I never would have thought to wear on my own. But when I put it on, I felt confident and sexy. The boobs were sitting!
The second outfit was an all black fit. Who doesn’t love all black? Now this one, I was a bit skeptical because the top was strapless. The top was an all black bustier with a sweetheart neckline that I would have been too nervous to wear in the past. But with my friend’s encouragement, I felt comfortable and stylish. We are embracing all bodies shapes in 2023! She completed this look with a pair of straight leg jeans with a lace up detail on the side. For an additional touch she added an envelope clutch that read “Money Bag”.
Overall, I’m so glad that I let my friend push me out of my comfort zone. It was a reminder that sometimes, it’s good to try new things and take risks, especially when it comes to fashion. I’m excited to see what other styles and outfits I can discover by stepping outside of my fashion bubble.
